About This Project

The Foy Boat was once a popular public house situated on the sea front in Ramsgate. When the public house closed down, a local developer purchased the property and transformed it into 4 luxury apartments.

The luxury apartments included a ground floor and basement apartment, two upper floor apartments and then a penthouse apartment at the top with outside roof terrace. After discussions with the client, The bottom three apartments would be finished with a Natural Oak Plank and the Penthouse would have a slightly more sophisticated Herringbone.

Following visits to our showroom in Ramsgate Harbour, the client decided on V4 Wood Flooring’s VIT107 Vale Oak for the lower floor apartments and ZB108 Natural Oak Herringbone for the Penthouse. All flooring was to be fully bonded with a flexible adhesive to a pre-prepared subfloor.

Our fitters successfully installed the flooring throughout the apartments over the course of a few weeks, including an internal stair case on the ground floor / basement apartment. Expansion gaps were covered with a skirting board after our installation.

Hardwax Oiled Finish

This floor is finished with coats of hardwax oil which keeps the hardwood surface protected from stains and wear whilst maintaining a natural look and feel.


This floor is bevelled on all 4 sides which helps distinguish the planks and adds character to the floor.

Fully Bonded

Installed with a flexible wood flooring adhesive to help the floor move as it contracts and expands whilst keeping it bonded to the subfloor.
